Benvenuti in LOL Gatto!
“Ragazzi, mi carissimi studenti!”
This is the resource you will need for Term 4 Italian. We can all contribute and add our questions, videos and ideas.
The LOL Gatto says, “Né can né gatto mai s’affogan pur che vedan la ripa” or, translated from creole Italian, “No cat ever drowned that saw the shore first.” You all know what is ahead – all you need to do is to prepare for the assessment, practice the vocabulary and to always expose yourself to the Italian language. The LOL Gatto says you should RAID your way to Italian language success!
Rubare. Steal Nonna/nonno’s Il Globo. Practice your understanding in the Prima Piano pages about Australian News. Make sure they have finished with the necrologia first.
Ascoltare. On SBS – Telegiornale or Telediario. Go to SBS on Demand and treat yourself to the Italian news and sport. Eavesdrop on your relatives.
Inviare. Email an Italian speaking friend or a classmate and ONLY write in Italian. Use this blog to practice your interrogatives.
Discorso. In language learning, there are two basic facts: (a) if you don’t use it, you will lose it; and, (b) all language proficiency increases with just one. When I was a translator in France, yes, you do sound like a wanker saying, “Ciao,” “L’addition,” “Moladh leat a Thiarna,” as the occasion arises but it is the only way to learn. You will find your English grammar becomes more careful and you will find that your speech flattens out to received pronunciation after a while.
The LOL Gatto is incapable of falsity.
So, here is a brief overview of the imperative form of the verb and then, we will make a video of our own!
